The NASA Space Apps Challenge--World's Largest Simultaneous Multi-region Hackathon--is being hosted for the first time ever in South Korea. This is a significant step in growing Korean space talent, fostering innovation, and contributing to the global space community. This event provides a unique opportunity for all participants in South Korea to showcase their skills, collaborate on groundbreaking projects, and gain recognition on an international platform.

세계에서 가장 큰 동시 다지역 해커톤 NASA Space Apps Challenge가 처음으로 한국에서 개최됩니다. 이는 한국의 우주 관련 인재를 육성하고, 혁신을 촉진하며, 글로벌 우주 커뮤니티에 기여하는 중요한 발걸음입니다. 이번 행사는 한국 내 모든 참가자들에게 자신들의 기술을 선보이고, 획기적인 프로젝트에 협력하며, 국제 무대에서 인정받을 수 있는 독특한 기회를 제공합니다.

1. NASA Space Apps Challenge Who is this for?

Local Challenge in Pangyo: Open to anyone over the age of 18 or anyone currently enrolled in high school (Parental consent required for participants under 18).

2. NASA Space Apps Challenge When? 

October 5 at 09:00 AM local time to October 6 at 11:59 PM local time (KST)

3. NASA Space Apps Challenge Where? 

Now an Open Virtual Event for Local Participants

Participants will interact primarily through Discord and Space Apps Connect, a platform hosted on GitHub, providing a platform for you to engage with the NASA Space Apps community and get valuable support for your hackathon journey. Space Apps Connect will open in late September and will remain open through October 6, 2024 (11:59 p.m. local time). NASA Space Apps Pangyo Discord Server will be available to participants in late August.

4. NASA Space Apps Challenge How? 

Register for the Space Apps Pangyo 2024 website and form teams of 3-6 people

*If you want to participate as a team of 1-2 people, you are eligible to join the Universal Challenge instead of the Pangyo Challenge here: https://www.spaceappschallenge.org/nasa-space-apps-2024/2024-local-events/universal-event/

5. NASA Space Apps Challenge Why Participate?

- All participants of the Space Apps Challenge 2024, as well as mentors, will receive a participation certificate issued by NASA Space Apps Challenge in their name.

- Opportunity for local team awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd place) and selection as global finalists.

- Compete for a change to become one of the Top 10 global finalist teams invited to the USA for NASA awards

- Connect with local and global communities to share experiences and explore solutions for Earth and Space challenges.

어디서? 

판교 로컬 참가자들을 위한 온라인 버추얼 이벤트 (링크 공지 예정)

참가자들은 주로 Discord와 GitHub에 호스팅된 Space Apps Connect 플랫폼을 통해 상호작용하며, 해커톤 여정을 위한 지원을 받을 수 있습니다. Space Apps Connect 플랫폼은 9월 말에 열리며, 10월 6일(오후 11시 59분 KST)까지 운영됩니다. NASA Space Apps Pangyo Discord 서버는 8월 말에 참가자들에게 제공될 예정입니다.
